I occasionally actively parse, and often will load my parser after the fact out of curiosity. Sometimes I get a good parse with Driizz (I exclusively bow on fights I care about parsing, generally), other times I seem to miss a large portion of the raid's DPS. I usually make an effort to stand in between the casters and melee's, while still being far enough away to bow (and always in range of bard songs if I can help it) thinking this will allow me to pick up both of the groups' DPS. I also do not have anything filtered off, I have most of the melee spam in a window that I keep minimized but otherwise, my hits/criticals/non melee damage all goes into my 2 battle windows.
However none of this seems to help. I have loaded the parse of a melee toon I have been boxing at the same time, and for some reason he picks a different set of damage. So to accurately parse do you need to be in melee range or on top of the mob? Does anyone have some good tips or tricks on how to ensure that I get a really good parse?
