About snare and summoning mobs

Was trying to solo some Lost Ones in DN for quick exp, but since Wailing Despair was up, I couldn't take the two that spawn near it without having it after me. Suddenly an idea came to my mind: I could snare it and when it was following me, I could lure it far away from it's spawnpoint, being able to do a quick run to the zone and after zoning back, get the two Lost Ones without having to fear for my life. Looked like a good way to speed up a little bit the exping, so I tried. WD resisted the first snare, the second landed and suddenly I got summoned, sliced and diced before I could even know what was happening, wich was kinda frustrating ;(

Probably it was set that way to prevent some kind of exploiting, now the question is: is the reason for summon to work that way with snare that people could kite away mobs while the group was killing the remaining stuff? If so, I can't complain at all, but if it wasn't this the reason, could it be changed so snare could be used for such strategies?

Agnarr in BoT in live.. could be snared and kited while his room was cleared and he was debuffed..

Guess wiz doesnt want that :)

There was an incident ... That's the reason mobs summon while snaring now. It's not an oversight.

basically, the issue was that raid mobs that are aggro linked (aggro one, and you're on the other's list regardless of wether or not you've touched it) could be kited using a druid, and as long as they weren't damaged, they wouldn't summon.

The summoning rules are a way to remove druid crowd control from mobs that are not supposed to be crowd controlled. It sucks, but it comes with the territory.

I believe there was also a case similar to what you're talking about, and it was ruled an exploit... But I'm not sure, it was before my time.

Then, as I said in the first post, it's pretty understandable, I'll have to find another way to get WD away from my Lost Ones (MWAHAHAHAHA)
