About Shards of Dalaya?

I read all the information on the 'basic' site as well as some forum threads, but still don't know what SoD actually is. Yes, it's an EQ server with a lot of custom content, but is it still similar to Everquest (or how everquest was?)? Also, I've read exp is faster, how much faster exactly?^^;
That being said, I'm downloading everquest titanium right now, so do you have any tips for someone just starting out? I never played EQ live, not even back in the day, but I always wanted to. (but couldn't since my parents didn't have a credit card...) So is this a good place to start out? I sure hope so,

Suggestions are: don't consider CHA lightly if you plan on creating a caster. Other suggestion is to enjoy! :haw:

Politeness will get you everywhere here (except Chillville), so your grammar difficulties should not be a large problem.

Reading the entirety of the rules and Policy Plaza is a good start while you patch.

Once in game, I recommend giving each class (and any races) a try for a couple levels to decide what you prefer. I rarely see any Gnome Paladins or Halfling Paladins, though...

Just keep in mind that this is a very different game which borrows the artwork and some of the basic concepts from Live, but isn't Live, and you'll be okay!

Agreed with Kelval, don't underestimate the value of CHA for a detrimental caster.
