This month marks my one year of playing Chamelion on WR. I've seen lots of changes to the game. I've met alot of new friends here and wished to express my thanks to all the team that works on WR.
To many of the new players that are coming to WR. I believe you will find something with WR that you would never find on live. One is that the team is always trying to make the server better. Just like anything in life there are ups and downs. But the thing you have to ask yourself is, is this server really worth the time? My answer has always been Yes. It is the reason i've stayed for this long and will continue to stay as long as it is up and going.
I'm glad to see that many of my friends have stayed through out the year. Many have left due to school or real life reasons. However, it seems that there is always a flow of new friends to meet as well.
WR was the first custom legit server I ever found on emu. I was bowled over by the amount of work and effort put into this. Yes i played on some of the others. #Level XX got old fast. Even the semi-legits where you could buy or summon items. They all lacked the sense of accomplishment that comes with defeating a creature and getting the reward with a real chance of loss or risk.
The server was even moved to a large box to hold the influx of larger server population. New zones are being added and the story line is expanding. Personally I left live because I grew tired of the lack of fun. It all became about enter mob here, kill for this, sell for PP. The story line was on such a mass scale that you were but a drop of water in a sea of turmoil. Here on WR you have the chance to not only choose the side of who you will aid in the coming War, but will be able to sway the outcome. (from what has been discussed in talks with dev) Greater Faydark, Lesser Faydark, Fearstone Keep (old crushbone), and the city of Kelethin have all been recently added. There is an ongoing quest to purge the influence of Kaezul from these zones, to give you an example of the newer things.
Just playing takes up alot of my free time here on WR,but as i said before, I feel that it is well worth it. Many times on live I would ask myself if I really felt like logging in and dealing with the hassle of loosing my new level or constant boring content. I've yet to had any of those feelings with WR. I can only imagine how much free time the devs give up to create and update WR. And for that sacrifice I am eternally greatfull. Given my current standings I'm only able to aid the server with a silver membership. If I was to ever win the lottery, you can bet that WR would be set for life. But I rant on, The point of this was to show that this server is by far the best that i've ever seen, and to give a note of thanks to all those who work hard to keep it going (players to devs alike). When i first started WR had a usualy population of 13 people a night. Now it has grown to 50 plus a night on average. I hope that it is around for a long time.
Thank you for the best year of gaming (even compared to RL gaming sessions. ) I hope WR is around for a long time.
