A little help? Newbie Froglok Cleric.

Hey guys, first post... I made a frog cleric that I've slowly leveled to 7 whenever I can find some time to jump on. Back in the day I used to have a lvl 65 enchanter on live, I don't want to 2 box (crappy laptop), and I'm trying to find out how to get the most bang for my buck timewise so I can get some leveling going. I've read the leveling guides but none of them cover sundering mountains where I am currently stuck at apparently :p. Every time I try to explore and find the zoneline I get mauled by a wolf or something stupid.

Anyone have any tips on hunting here or just some help getting to the oasis (loc or something) so I can get out of this newb land? =p. Thx!

Sundered Mountains are a nice area if a bit underused. I haven't done Froglok cleric before but if there's any quests for armor you should do those first. If you really want to go somewhere more populated, I'd suggest taking the Mansion of Portals from the Wizard Guild in Sadri Malath and make your way to Newport.

Not sure you noticed or not, but by hitting Backspace you can bring up a map (sometimes you'll have to zoom out to be able to see anything). That should help find your way to Sadri and any other zones your looking for.

Lvl 7 now, Newport Sewers would be good. Kill rats and ratlings for the NP guard turn-in quests, or find a group down there and kill the nameds. Once you come out of there, and get slightly better gear, a simple "/ooc Cleric LFG" should net you your pick of groups to go hunting with.

At level 9 or so you'll be a great addition to any starting blackburrow or fearstone group as well. You'll gain valuable grouping experience as well. A decent group will rocket you into the teens in no time. Be sure to join up any Adept groups that may be forming as well! With a little luck you could grab some valuable loot from the level 12, 14, and 17 adepts.

As you hit your 20's return to Sundered Mountains, and get a group going in Warpstone. My 20's literally flew by here back in the day. You'll be strong enough to do your Starfall Quests in no time!

All along the way look for quests to do. Mistwoods has very underrated newbie quests, that every non twink should do. The jewlery I got from them lasted me an embarrassingly long time.

You can hit 14 pretty easily just doing sundered. DO NOT explore the northwest mountain edge. I did this once. It may in fact end in tears.

Theres a few lil named out in the mountains, that you may encounter, but they roam, which will be a total pain in the nuts, as you cannot track.

Don't overlook the Main Quest.
Go talk to your Mysterious Summons author and answer some questions.
Bring back the artifact and get your Gemstone of Learning.
You are high enough level to do some further exploring now also.
For MQ2, after you have spoken with all eight NPC's (a lot of traveling - not hard) you will get 100,000 xp.

You can Complete MQ1 and MQ2 and be up to level 16-18 in no time.
Run fast young Cleric!

If you can find a group with the chops for it I highly recommend Runnyeye to any new players on the server. It destroys fearstone.

Thanks so much... nice to see you guys are helpful =p. Plan on playing this weekend some, probably finish up the main quest then hit the mansion of portals and check out some other areas, I don't think I can handle much more of the mountains. I'm pretty much playing whenever I can right now... probably be a slow crawl, getting married in a month so I'm super busy =p. Later :).

Im new here and from eq oldschool and just stared again. I want to try this out but I dont know how to have both at the same time can someone point me in the right direction any help would be appreciated.

Hovan - That depends. Are you still actively playing Live? If not, then just follow the instructions from here http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/intro_starting.htm.

But if you are still playing, then you prolly want a separate installation for SoD. Which is easy enough. Follow the normal installation steps, but install to a different directory, and make SURE you give the correct path to the SoD patcher, i.e. not the EQ path but he SoD path. There are many other tips you can find on these forums, but by and large if you just follow the given instructions, you will succeed.

I purposely made a alt just to check out how Runnyeye was.

Its a pretty intense zone and Xp certainly can fly by here. However that also means if you dont go in a bit twinked or with a group that knows what thier doing this zone can utterly smash you.

Also for a zone its size, I'm afraid to say I manged to out level the zone before experienceing all of its content. The key system with events is very cool and orginal, but also frustrating as you find many doors you cannot open until you get the keys (some of which are No rent doh).

All in All a fun zone, well worth making a alt to try out if you have out leveled it and missed your chance.

PS- Thiers also some pretty cool gear that drops here. new characters going throw this zone will come out with some very unqiue gear options you dont have in any other zones. Some of which will last a VERY long time past the levels you aquired them (like the Coin)
