A Horse’s Corpse?

I thought I would post my thought(s) on corpse recovery. A search within these forums seemed to show me this may be a new idea, or at the very least one possibly not discussed openly here at the forums.

1. Corpses equate to server lag. Even with the current system I believe this to be a potentially true statement.

2. I have yet to meet anyone in the game that strives to recover a corpse after his or her character’s death. Most likely because there does not seem to be a tangible player side benefit.

What if we could make 1 & 2 work together somehow? Say offering even a trivial benefit for reclaiming one’s corpse before it rots. As a suggestion, perhaps a percentage of the experience debt could be recovered?

From an objective point of view, a penalty for not recovering a corpse would work just as effectively, but I like to stay on the positive side of things as often as possible.

Food for thought or did I stumble upon the horse’s corpse?

You mean like recovering it to rez it?

Hi, I'm Harpenter. I strive to recover my corpse for a rez every time I die.
Nice to meet you.

Hey, as a non rezing class that is in zones where clerics usually either dont go, or wont go, i would deffinately seek out my corpse for even a 10% boost ;)

...you're making it sound as though zoning in and typing /corpse and then looting is a difficult thing to do. For those waiting on a rez, wait. Otherwise, summon, loot, and that's the end of it. If corpses are causing that big of a lag problem, then getting rid of the lag should be enough incentive for those too lazy to deal with locating and looting a corpse.
