A few questions

Hi all, I have a few little questions I'm hoping for some help with:

1) I have a robe with a click effect. I held click and it made an icon, which I dropped on my hotbar and all was well. I've since had to re-install the game entirely, and when I do this now, it works and I can still click the hotkey, but there is no picture/icon in the hotkey. So it looks like an empty hotkey when actually it's not. Any ideas on how to fix that?

2) F8 was target nearest NPC and I've changed it to TAB because I prefer it there. Whatever was on TAB I moved to "k" or something that I don't use.. Anyway, I find that TAB (Target nearest NPC) only works about 50% of the time. Sometimes it targets on first press, sometimes I can press it a hundred times with a mob just 10 feet in front of me, but it won't target. I wonder if it could be to do with pets and things being in the way or something. I haven't had time to experiment, but it's a bit of a nuisance so any suggests would be greatly appreciated.

3) I read in another thread that you can do something like spam "/cm listsold next" and then output it to a notepad file or something like that. So then I could search it and find the item I want, rather than having to read masses of green text. Is that still allowed? If so, how do I do that?

Thanks in advance :)

1) I don't know, this has never happened to me, but have you tried to just remake the hotkey? or is the item invisible in your inventory aswell? If it is, you should probably make a thread about the item with its exact name, and saying it has no icon and such.

2) its a known problem with no known fix except using the mouse instead, it doesn't matter what key you bind it to, target nearest doesn't always work, some zones seem to completely destroy the function, others seem to partially work, and some are perfect. Gfay is an example of a partially working zone.

3) As far as I know, that would be classified as a searchable databas, and therefor Bannable(?) so I would not do it.

Thanks for the reply =)

1) Yep tried remaking it several times. The icon of the robe is fine, just when I drop the icon in to the hotkeys, the icon vanishes (although it still works).

2) Ahh thanks. I'm sure that used to be fine when I used to play years ago. It's a shame because /assist is not much use when the puller brings 3 mobs in a cluster and I need to mez one or something. Oh well.

3) Ahh I thought it might be. The suggestion someone made to me recently was to log your chat so you can then search it. Perhaps I'll just stick to doing this the old fashioned way, unless anyone can set me straight about it.

Using F8 as a mezzer in that type of situation is asking to get yourself killed. Assist your tank, and then use your mouse to click the other targets. If you have your tank's target on your window to start with, you will notice the HP change when you switch to a different mob. It will go up to 100% briefly and then back down to whatever it is actually at. A good way to make sure you have a different target.

Using the mouse to click targets is the *only* remaining option. What else is there?

And F8 used to work just fine. As a mezzer your job is to mez anything except the mob being tanked by the MA, so if you have a button that instantly targets the nearest mob, then it's nothing but useful. Without it, the only option is to actually click stuff which is slow, and sometimes is impossible if there's a group and a bunch of pets in the way. So you have to relocate your character which makes it all even slower. Valuable seconds that at 65 in groups or raids, can translate to thousands of lost hit points for someone, or worse. F8 was a really important tool so it's a shame that isn't reliable now.
