A few necro charming questions

I'm looking for a good place to solo on my necro and was wondering if hunting in mainly undead areas would be a good idea. I've got the ancient pet buff but no relic pet, so I'm considering using a charmed pet since they might be superior tanks and dps. Does anyone know exactly what penalties charmed mobs have compared to their normal selves?

Also, the only places I can think of with good amounts of blue undead mobs are highkeep and first ruins. Are there any other locations to consider?

Another location to concider is freeport. It is all undead. If you are wanting to work on AA's, that's a good place to go for the exp. Just be careful not to get too many adds.

ya your best bet would be freeport for sure. more room to pull and move/hide. highkeep is defo not soloable for a low tier necro, nor would it really be interesting even for a high tier necro.

also freeport guards dont cast leech and other stuff on you

Hmm I didn't think freeport guards were still dark blue at 65, guess I'll give that a try then. Does it matter if I do north, east, or west? I know monks/enchanters can't be charmed, would the pally guild in nfp be a good spot? Is there another place in freeport that would have slightly higher level undead?

I'm pretty sure I could handle the first floor of highkeep, I didn't mean I'd be doing basement or the upper floors or anything. First floor mobs only hit for about 150 it seems, and the combination of a pet, FD, root, mez, and undead slow seems like it would be doable. There's only one or two 3-pulls, and I've split them pretty easily on my monk. I'd think it would be even easier on the necro since root+fd is a very simple splitting method.

The Freeport warrior's guild has a bunch of non-caster undead that are dark blue to a level 65. It should be a pretty easy place for a necro to XP (might run out of mobs though).

That was also the warriors' guild from live wasn't it? Anyway that is the area I was talking about.

I guess the necromancer's forums are down/gone :(, and my guides one of the forum posters transferred to the old wiki didn't make it to the new one. :dumbsad: A short list of good mobs would be:

an undead froglok in mielc, a fallen knight in elds, various wraiths around plaguelands/freeport (north freeport paladin guild is great with high magic resist).
