Hello all, I started on this server about 25 days ago and currently play a 65 Monk/Shaman duo. I'm currently in the process of trying to find a guild as I play this game to raid. Grouping and questing is fine, but I'm a raider. I hit 65 a couple days ago and I'm currently working on improving my AA / gear to become a valuable member of the level 65 community.
Why post now instead of obtaining the necessary AA/gear first? Well, for the off chance that anyone's interested and would like to take me along for some groups or tmaps or such. Finding groups is proving difficult, and duoing has been slow/boring. I've had a few groups say they're looking for 65 dps and never respond when I send a tell, which I find odd.
Besides my currently low AA/gear situation I'm an ideal candidate. I started playing EQ around Dec99/Jan00 and played up through GoD, as well as countless emus. I have been boxing monk/shaman 95% of the time, making up over 6 years of experience playing these classes. And while I've mained a Shaman and boxed a Monk in the Live raid guilds, I would like to switch things up a bit here and main the Monk. However, I am highly skilled with both of these classes, without the gear/exp deficiency I'm confident I perform equally or better than high end monks/shaman on the server. Not only do the mechanics of FD splitting come second nature to me, I have an understanding of many concepts that come with years of playing (such as judging when a group/raid is ready for more pulls as to not waste time and keep things moving quickly, etc).
My ideal guild would be somewhat new and progressing through raid content quickly, challenging and conquering new content skillfully. I'm looking for a guild that raids often and doesn't like to waste time. I hate DKP and feel merit/officer rewarded loot to be 100x more beneficial to a guild's progression. Vent is a must, and I prefer members to not talk in teen/leetspeak (this includes "u"s and "r"s). Of course, these are just preferences and if I end up in a Tier 26 DKP based guild full of 13 year olds and I manage to have fun, so be it.
I started on Tunare, doing PUG raids of Vox/Naggy/Fear/Hate. I eventually joined a guild named Gale of Destruction and did raid content from Velious up through Uqua. I returned for the Progression servers, dominating all raid content from Phinny up to Qvic where I once again left EQ due to RL issues. Being a member of a top end guild on Progression is about as hardcore as it gets, our members were completing entire expansions in under a month, getting calls at 3 am to kill Kunark dragons, and all kinds of other insane measures to conquer all available content. I obtained many Progression-wide firsts such as the first Time's Antithesis (Shaman-only, one of if not the most powerful item(s) in that era of EQ).
I currently (attempt) to play from about 12:00 noon EST to 3:00 AM EST. Attempt as in, LFG all day and eventually take breaks from boring duo grinds. This is where you come in, if you're interested in possibly having me as a member, feel free to take me along on some grinds and make me pull or sing songs to you in vent or whatever you need to see if I'm right for you.
Oh, I'm Gradalsh pledged, planning to work on aug as soon as I can find the NPC alive along enough to start it, finished with MQ up through High Seeker and currently working on 2nd portion of Blackscale factioning.
Finally, my Fomelos, keep the snickering to yourself please. I'm hoping to make significant improvement here soon. Monk / Shaman.
Thank you!
