Ok so i have been playing SoD for a long time, but my laptop was starting to have many problems. So i decided it was time for a factory reset, which worked flawlessly but in the process in doing so, something is wrong for SoD.

I have an Asus laptop with a Nvidia Gforce 9800m GS 512mb card
4gig ram
200 gig hd
dual core 2.13ghz
vista 64 bit
laptop is G50vt series if that makes a difference

anyways, i can load 1 window of SoD, but if i load a seond one, everything slows down and starts lagging to where i cant even see where im going...
ive been checking around for 2 days, there is no Speedstep in my bios, this isnt xp so i cant lock the cpu speed is seems :-/
Also took off all anti-virus programs

but i feel like i am missing something, some little trick to get me going again, if anyone knows what it might be, please share this info with me :)

Two things I can think of to try that I've run into:

- Make sure your 2 windows are identically sized, and exactly on top of each other.
- If you have 2 monitors, make sure your windows aren't overlapping onto the 2nd monitor even by a pixel.

Both of these have brought my video to a crawl in the past.

they are identical, and only 1 monitor, ive even tried copying the EQ folder and using EQw on 1 , still laggy once 2nd window pops up, before i could run 2 eq instances, browsers, youtube, programs, i mean it was insane, not sure what it is thats crushing me now...

im assuming your right about drivers, i ran windows upgrade and it found a new driver for my vid card as well as 84 other updates, so as soon as its done... :))

Windows update will again give a new version of the microsoft driver... go to Nvidia's website (or maybe Asus since it's a laptop, but try Nvidia first) and get their drivers; in my experience, the manufacturer's drivers are MUCH better than MS's.

i only got this laptop maybe 1.5? years ago, or maybe a yer ago, but the website says it doesnt support this laptop or vid card anymore, says try OEM?

thanks, i was on this site and it said i needed to go to the company that makes the laptops to see if they still support it...

ive never used affinity, and i use dual core, never had a prob, it was the vid card, thanks guys, i installed the driver you gave me the link for, zero lag now :)))))) you guys are the best haha
