2 boxing

Hi, I have some simple Noob questions about 2 boxing. I never did it back in EQ (since i didn't want to pay for 2 accounts), so it just seems really intimidating to me.
1st of all, how do you all do it? Two computers, or 2 windows on one monitor?
Do you have to alt tab back and forth?
I don't know, if anyone has some sort of guide or something, that would be great, since it seems like most people here do it.
Ok, one more question.... If i make a Wizzy, what would be a good combo with him?

Some people can't "Alt-Tab" from one screen to the other when they 2 box (IE: my husband). Another way you can do it is "Cntrl-Alt-S". Another thing to keep in mind is "Cntrl-Alt-R" to release your mouse. Also, something that I found helpful when two boxing, and using the same computer, is upping the resolutions through the options in game (Alt-O). This gives you the full screen effect. Oh yea, full screen! In order to full screen one window in EQW mode you need to "Alt-Enter". Hope that helps!


*these are all the default commands -- you can change them to something less complicated in the options in game as well.

There was a fix for this that I had to use a long time ago. I've long since forgotten it however, as that was a couple years ago.
 
I'm actually going to copy that post into the Technical forums, seeing as this seems to be a common problem for many people (including me).
 
Worth noting, perhaps, that Alt+Tab'ing may lead to your toons changing targets. Much better to set an EQW option for some other key comb.
 
1st, thanks for the replies.
When EQW'ing, do you basically have 2 windows side by side like a split screen type of thing? If so, that wouldn't be too bad.
 
I layer mine with a slight overlap so I can look into the both windows while still having them both semi-centered on my screen (letting me put a bunch of peripheral junk on the sides).

It's a personal preference thing and probably depends a lot on how you think. I have attention deficit disorder (not in the joking interweb or myspace ADD, legitimate ADD), so it's difficult for me to think about one thing at a time, unless it's a hyperfocus. I find it really, really easy to layer the windows and do lots of other junk while tabbing between EQW and any other applications I have open.

For someone who thinks in a more normal fashion, split screening them would probably work great (I might actually try that when I start grouping at higher levels so I can free my mouse and just click between the two).

Or just set it so Tab doesn't change your target through the ingame controls.
