1680x1050 users, chosen UIs, best way to get that res?

I've probably played a combined 3 years or so of the game that shall not be named on live... and never bothered changing UI (to be fair, most of that time was back when they coded the game to crash if it was alt-tabbed or adjusted in any way)... but now I'm hoping to spend a good bit of this summer on SoD, and find myself disliking the beefy UI on my 2005FPW (20" widescreen) and had a couple questions.

1. Whats the best way to force 1680x1050... is there a method available that avoids the distortion skewing causes?

2. What UI's look best at this res/ what UI's do people running this res prefer? (Provide links to downloads and screenshots if possible please).

I am pretty sure you can force pretty much any resolution by editing your eqclient.ini file in your Shards of Dalaya folder. If you open the .ini file about 1/4th of the way down you will see something like:

[VideoMode]
Width=
Height=

Simply change the width/height to whatever you want and save.

As far as a UI goes, can't help ya.
 
Simply change your resolution to 1680x1050 in game. You can't do it on the setup portion of the game (where you set your luclin models and such) but once you load your character open your options (alt+o) and click the display tab and then the 'Video Modes' button and 1680x1050 as an option.

As far as UIs go....I use SARS (download link here -> http://forum.shardsofdalaya.com/showthread.php?t=8213 ) and it looks really good on 1680x1050 if you ask me (obviously you have to move things around and set it up how you like it).
 
I run 1680x1050, with like 11 windows, haha. SARS works pretty well with widescreen, I've been using it for years now. As for getting that resolution in game without the skewing, just run fullscreen, and select 1680x1050 from the video modes.
