1017 error

I was wondering if anyone had any info on how to fix a 1017 error? i repatched all. deleted all files and redownloaded and still nothing. I am out of ideas on how to fix it, anyone help pleases?
 
have you tried checking your firewall? i had an issue where i couldnt log in and turned off windows firewall and was able to log in
 
have you checked and made sure your drivers are updated? also see if you have mcafee or norton blocking anything?
 
What drivers would I have to update but, no I don't think the virus protection is blocking anything... still can't seem to figure the problem out on my tower
 
If you are still having the issue please post the full error message and a picture (snip/screenshot) of what it looks like.
 
At this point, i would post what was asked for above. Also where are you trying to connect from (home/school/cell phone/etc.) And who is the network administrator (you/dad/brother/paid dude at your school? )

I'm pretty sure the 1017 error is a 'can't find server error'.
So if your local files are correct and not corrupt, and since everyone else is playing SoD happily, my guess is something is blocking the SoD traffic on your end. This could be windows firewall, anti virus, router/modem firewall, or other network administrator solvable issues.

Turn all your local security stuff off, and try connecting. From there you can see if it is a local security issue or a network issue.
 
Daffie or anyone else; Is there a text file that has all the error codes listed? I don't know off the top of my head. That would help so we could verify if it were "can't find server". Unfortunately this post lacks info in order for me to be helpful. But it can ALL be remedied with communication :)
 
not sure about that. I just 'think' this specific error code is that because of the way dudes seemed to have solved the issue. (I did a forum search to try to help lol...)
 
I think I Figured it out.... whenever im on my wireless connection I can log into the server just fine, but the wireless spikes and drops really just all around crappy connection but with this internet spliter I have from Verizon I think it's blocking the connection to SoD??? its a box that has a coax cable for the TV, but it has a Ethernet plug for the computer but its connected to the wireless, im not sure how it fully works but maybe its some IP problem? anyone got a idea?
