1017 error constantly - log attached ...help!

I run on Linux so the SoD patcher is not an option...if it didn't use that stinkin .Net stuff I could run it with wine or cedega, but it's not an option right now...

I installed fresh from that one game's Titanium edition
I then patched up to LDoN
I then downloaded and installed Xardon's manual patch files from 9/21/2006 (the official ones are older than dirt - ie from January the patchfiles.zip says :-/ )
I then applied Xardon's update patch just to be safe
I downloaded the new map pack from 9/22/2006 and installed

I used to play with this same computer on the same connection several months ago. Not sure why it doesn't work now...

I've tried changing datarate.txt from 8.0, 5.0, 4.0, 15.0, 10.0 and nothing seems to work

I can run the game, login, and get to server select screen, but when i click the button to enter world, it stalls a few seconds and then pops up the 1017 error.

No P2P, no browser, no antivirus running, ports forwarded on my router (both TCP and UDP)

I pinged shardsofdalaya.com and it averaged about 43ms

HELP! 1017 :(

As I run Windows at work I DL'd the patcher there and ran it, zipped all the files and then posted them to download when I got home. Got here, unzipped them and still the 1017 error. :(

I also tried Xardon's newest file zips with no luck. This has me stumped. I have no troubles playing any other games online and have pinged the server and had it respond <45ms every time.

Port forwarding did nothing.

Any other suggestions?

1017 doesn't actually mean wrong patch. It means "ERROR ERROR ERROR HELP HELP HELP". Essentially it means an error occured, and it could be anything, such as ping timeout, port not properly forwarded, anything that prevents a real connection. So, do you have any ways of testing it on other computers on the same lan/bring your computer to other LANs to test?
