1001 Error

Hi, I'm new around here, just wanted to check out what this game's about! Anyhow, I've set up my account as per the instructions on the site, and thusfar have been unable to connect. I've read 4-5 pages back(FAQ included ;)), and haven't been able to find someone with exactly my problem (one thread was similar, but his fix was not related to mine).

I load up fine, windowed or not, get to the log-in and password screen, and when I attempt to contact the log-in server, I get the "established connection, now in queue"(I don't remember the exact words). This is when things get funky, from the minute I hit the enter button, my system (3700+, 2gigs ram, 7800GT) slows to almost a halt. I have forwarded all the ports listed in the FAQ to my computer through my router. This is my DBG.txt file on attempt to connect (I saw this requested a few times in other threads). Thanks in advance for the help :)

edit. some added stuff. I have repatched multiple times, also, if I let the computer sit for 2-3 minutes I do get the "1001" error box, although the computer will still be at the snail's pace until I close EQ.

I would first try two things:

1. Reboot your computer.
2. When you Open the SoD Patcher program, click Advanced, Click Re-Patch All, then click Patch And Run.

As far as your log goes, I do not see anything wrong with it ... at least for the section that you posted, if that's the last 20-30 lines of your dbg.txt.

Did both of those just now(I also disabled most of my background programs, all I have running is google notify, daemon tools, and msn messanger), no change when I attempted to log-in (dbg.txt also has the exact same process).
 
Delete your DBG.TXT file, and re-run the game again, when it crashes out, post the LAST 20 or so lines from the file.

It doesn't "crash out" per sey. I get a 1001 error, and my entire system slows down dramatically, I just spam the escape key and it eventually picks it up and exits EQ (usually takes 30-40 seconds for it to pick up my commands). Also, I have been deleting my DBG.txt file between logins and posting what I got from the one time I loaded it up.

Could be you have ports blocked, you running anything like Zone Alarm or have a Firewall, etc?
 
I do have a router with a hardware firewall. The ports I have forwarded to my PC are as follows...

6112 (warcraft 3 : frozen throne hosting, works fine)

6881 (torrent files, again, works fine)

5997 (sod login)

9000 (sod world)

7770-7794 (sod zone1)

7950-8091 (sod zone2)
 
A quick update, I got past the initial password entry screen and to the news page, after pressing enter got another 1001 error, then it loaded up to the server select screen, although there were no servers present.
 
This morning I was able to log in with no trouble at all. then this afternoon I try to log in and I find the 1001 error when I try to get into the server select screen. This has never happened before. I've had very good luck so far (untill today) with logging in and everything.

I've updated the maps, I've repatched all, I've read the threads that seem related (thus I found this one) been playing regularly for over a month (maybe over 2 months now) NEVER had this problem... Very frustrated,,,

BTW the systems speed never seems to be an issue for me.
 
Also benn getting the "1001" error message saying i'm unable to login the server at this time,try again later,never happened before ti'll today.
 
I've been having problems for about four days now. Today, I'm getting the 1001 error. Yesterday, I was getting "eqgame.exe" has crashed error, only way I could find to get around it (at least it worked twice) was to delete the .ini files as recommended in another post - after the server reset last night (4am reboot) I was unable to get on again. I tried logging in today, and now I'm getting the 1001 error. I've listed my log file below. Not sure what is going on:

Any ideas??
 
EDIT: Long post removed since the problem for me is just the server being down. I normally am able to reach a server select screen that simply has no listed servers when the server is down, hence my confusion.
 
FYI..Server Down

As of approximately 8:17, the server is down (I posted to ask if the login server was down in the main SoD Forum). Naralia said the server is in fact down, and to check IRC #sod.
