The newbie mistake...Cha

So I rolled my first character in Sod. An Iksar Necro, one of my favorites from live. I just dinged 24 last night. The only problem is that I did not put a single stat point into Charisma. So I have a base Cha of around 65. Should I re-roll this character or will there be enough gear to make up for it?

In the endgame, you will have more then enough charisma (especially if you plan on raiding). Till then, consider to use a few CHA augs inbetween those mana augs every caster uses, as a necro you shouldn't suffer as much as many other classes from a little less mana.

there is also the charm of vanity, +15 to charisma ( 84 pp) and trade skill jewelry for the near term. I might actually have some on a mule if you pm me in game. Last, your fire, vex line, and lifetaps have significant resist adjusts and will work fine in a group.

The only thing low charisma does for a nec starting out is make your snare really unreliable when soloing. though sow and sow pots can help with that.

yeah, this is not a mistake at all actually, but rather a good idea. Unless of course you spent it on int, which you will also have fuckboats full of, and not need past a certain amount.

Ya, your problem isent that you put nothing into cha. There are alot of thing that can make your char permanently behind but stats really isent one onf the. Religion/Alignment and race are the worst once.

DO NOT pick a deity until really late.

Charisma you can work your way around by getting gear, as Nwaij posts you may want to put in some cheap +cha augs in the start. By the time your tier 9 your charisma is going to be close to max.

I didn't put any points into CHA on my mage when I started (well ok, I lie, I did 25INT and 5CHA since I couldn't pump any more into INT) - however you simply have to consider CHA on items as stats if that is the case. If you look at the top end characters, they mostly have all their stats maxed across the board - so once you start getting decent items, you'll be fine. Concentrate on Specialising in Focus/Mind, max that out, and you'll be fine imho.
