What class do you like to see in a group?

What class when you join a group do you often hope joins up or are already happy they are in the group?

A good, intelligent, well played bard or enchanter. Both of which are about as rare as unicorns.

I'd love to group with Necros more often. They r0ckz.

And tanks. Any kind. God, tanks are a pain to find.

Paladin so I can be lazy and just /shield for free exp, haha.

But for more serious grouping i love seeing a bard

There are way to many Monks / Druids / Shamans. Anything but those is good.
And yet every night I hear people asking for healers. I think what you meant to say is that there are too many boxed monks/druids/shamans.

Also, ome might say that there is a shortage of well played monks, druids and shamans.........

The real answer is that for grouping tanks and healers are in short supply. But what people mainly want is well played toons.

As long as they can pay attention with both characters, 2-boxers rock my socks off. I'm just tired of grouping with either type of player who just doesn't care enough to do their part.

If you pay attention and aren't constantly stupid, I'm happy you're in my group. Ninja AFK is occasionally forigivable for emergencies, but it's not hard to just say when you'll need to be AFK and for how long. I can type out a decent message detailing this critical information in 10 seconds. It's easy:

/g Need a bio break for 2 mins after pull.

THAT'S IT. Where did you go, Mr. Bard? You put on autofollow, Pot4 and OtherSong_02 and took a nap without saying anything? The wizard just nuked the hell out of a mob, said he was medding, then came back in half an hour? LEARN TO COMMUNICATE. Also, I've removed the Ctrl + D shortcut to disband you, so your not being in the group anymore is not an accident. Please find your way away from me and don't waste my time again.

Postscript: At least 5/6 of the people I've met are completely competent to not do this, so this is rarely a problem. Some people may tend toward this, but most check themselves before they wreck themselves if reminded. I'm happy to get to play with a high proportion of quality people.

Learn what you can do and are expected to do and do that to be an OK player. Learn how you can fit in best to any situation, pay attention so you can do that, and you'll be a great player.

Whatever classes my friends play... Then you POWER THRU!!!!

Note: The official spelling of "through" has changed to "thru!" (note the use of at minimum one exclamation point).

People, in a group situation, that understand that when the group has a bard or an enchanter that MEZING is better than "AoE"'ing 2 mobs simply because their AoEs have a higher dps that way. (Yes, that means don't use rains, targeted AoEs, etc.)

If a group has the capability to mez...then mez. If you don't, determine group and mob dynamics to see if rooting is preferred. It helps the healer's mana drastically. (Since the melee dps'ers are focused on a single mob.)
---------
Oh, and competent group, non-boxed, healers.

This is only correct if your healer mana cannot keep up. Otherwise, AE'ing and DS tanking is much faster. I think I have enough exp. on this server to give a decent opinion on that. I rarely mez on Felyn, and haven't ever since HHK used to be hard (over 1.5 years ago).

Bard's beneficial songs are mainly why people want them there, and because they have decent utility.

For exp. groups I like to see a paladin as the tank. Not having to jolt is just extra DPS.

For me, it's not about classes. You can adjust tactics to your group dynamic and be ok, with any given stack of classes. It's really about people that just know how to play their class, and have a working knowledge of group roles. If you're a noob, that's fine. Say so up front and listen to what others say so you can learn. But rezzing the same asshole over and over again when I "/g LM, need to med after this one" and he keeps pulling, that's frustrating.

And not to start any shit, since there is so much of that in other current threads involving this class, but If I had my choice I'd rather not have a monk when i am grouping with my alts. Simply for the lack of autosplit on the $$. I've lost count on how many times, while leveling, I got hosed out of a split cause the ML was a flake. It's not that big of a deal now, but it kinda sucked then.

Now you effing monk-lovers go ahead and flame.
