Killing my own

So, I'm fixing to ding 29 with my mage and my only new nuke is elemental only. Seems a bit two-faced to kill my pet's brethren, but...

Where are elementals? I've never seen one, much less one near my level. I heard rumors there were some at a well somewhere in the Badlands...but that's like saying somewhere in Europe.

Point is; anyone know where I can hunt some elementals... (not earth ones... They scare me.)

There's a well in South Badlands with some, yes. Don't mages have a "locate summoned" type of spell? If so, it should be a breeze locating them.

Until you get to FG/RSM, I don't think there's any large concentrations of elementals. I mean, there's some roaming Faentharc and there's some in SBL and there's probably some in other zones that I can't think of, but there's not a lot in one area to make it worth hunting them and them alone.

There pretty much are like none. Well at least none that are really worth hunting. There are some very minor concentrations in ebl iirc, in faentharc, and also in sbl. However each of them are problematic spots at your level for different reasons.

Sbl you will probably be killed in short order by wandering corrupted red chickens + there are like 4, that come together, and I'm pretty sure they are higher level than you, by quite a bit.

Faentharc is laggy and unpleasant, they all roam, and stuff higher level than you again will probably wander by and eat you.

Ebl is a fine hunting choice in the 30's, but everything including the elementals can probably kill you. Also wandering cyclops's have the tendency to tear you apart.

Elementals aren't really prevalent so to speak at lower levels. Fire grotto, rsp, plane of torment, etc all have them. However our bane line is also quite awful, and not really worth using in 99.9% of situations due to the recast which I know applies to our highest (disposement) and the fact that your regular nuke will be comparable, and not have the recast so even if the bane is higher damage (which I think it may be with high bane enchancement, v the nonrelic storm of steel, though only by maybe 100 damage) it is generally not worth casting. It doubles as a destroy spell, but at that point you will only be able to destroy the occasional lblue, most lblues will be too high, or greens. Basically you will rarely if ever use this line, I wouldn't recommend even buying it except for the purposes of completing your spellbook.

The Bane spells , undead or elemental, are rarely interesting due to high resists - although they can take adv of bane focus. But mages really have other ways to deal high dmg.
I can't manage to remember the elementals in EBL o_O but sounds like a plan.
Otherwise there are in Siren's Grottos but its higher level (cold elementals) ; planes of courses as Aisling mentioned; 2 in EF guarding prison , few in FH guarding PoW ...Basically nothing at early levels.

You guys are aware that almost every single creature in the planes is an Elemental, right?

But yeah, not exactly low level.

Yeah I did figure that out one day back in plane of torment. Problem there is there magic resistance, now its not really a problem of course, but at that tier as a mage that zone was a nightmare. the base damage on disposement is quite a bit higher than storm of steel (by 400) but bane enhancement was pretty skimpy back in the day when I was comparing them. 4 was about the best I could find (sharkbone jaw). Versus DI5 which I snagged off the deviant robe. Course that won't be the case with everyone but di4 isn't hard to get (maps in the 50's). With the 2 second (1 w/refresh, one with cast time) and storm of steel being 70ish mana lower I think in the longrun it would win out, even for the simple reason of spell slots being better served for keeping 2 of the monster summonings up in a high resist zone like there. Of course they should be raining anyways so it's kind of moot. Even though at that tier there seems to be a fascination with mezzing mobs on top of each other.
