Hello!

I looked up the Wiki for this quest, and found it severly lacking. Its poorly written, low on info, and is filed under the misspelled name "Steamfront".

So I made a vastly superior Wiki to this one, with much more info and full sentences even!

Yar, Jamethiel here. Been playing WR again after a long absence. Those sure look like the quest write-ups I did for Irme's site about a year ago.

I don't mind one bit that someone put em' on Wiki but getting paid for doing a copy and paste job? Hmm... Tarpy, I'm assuming you cleared this with Irme first?

I also assume you have verified the accuracy of these quests too? WR had changed a ton since I last played a year ago. I see a couple of quests which start with Sytha Coldwind in Thurgadin. Hmm, I could have sworn just this morning Sytha Coldwind has now moved to Grobb and won't talk to me anymore. Do these quests I wrote up that you copied and pasted into Wiki even exist anymore? My guess is no.

Terate, I appreciate what you are doing, but I might be a bit more careful in the future about paying bounties.

All you did was copy/paste all of those quests directly from Winter's Roar Guide. Not only did you not check for line breaks, you didn't even change the name of the original poster. You created extraneous duplicates and you don't even know if the quests are still in the game. I hope you give that money back and stop exploiting a good thing.

Actually ya I did give it back, with a smile nonetheless. In regards to the quests, they are still in there, I verified before I posted. Just didnt feel like copying over when it was already written. Now if you would take the time to realize that before you try to look like a hero...

The money wasn't an issue, the first series of quests I posted I used the cash to buy armor and handed it out in centaur hills. This would have been used much for the same, although I had planned to use enough to upgrade my bow (lost over 200pp in the shared bank /sigh) which is appauling. The rest I had already told the guild leader he could have for the guild bank.

At any rate, those quests are now in Wiki and will do someone some good I hope.

Might I suggest that since you are paying people for the quests that you ask for a bit more then just slapping the information on a Wiki page and asking to be paid.

I think it would be awesome if the information could be posted in a uniform manner, because after all what good is all the information in the world if you can't find what you want in the pile?

its your plat and I by no means am trying to tell you what to do with it but I think this would be a great pattern to start now before the wiki gets so big that it takes more time to find the write quest information then it does to do the quest.

I think "Halas" isn't enough for the title, something like NProgue1 (NewPort Rogue Quest n1 ..) gives more info..
The page template is quite good tho :P

I agree, but what about the generic newbie quests for any class? just lump them all together and then if you want to break out the more class specific stuff use "Halas-Rogue" "NP-Rogue1"

This would also help to prevent the quests that have been posted in the wiki under 3 or 4 different headings.

hehe, the Defenders and Defender's Insignia were my own. Defenders is in there because I made a simple mistake while first learning how to use the Wiki. Unfortunately, I don't believe there is a way to delete once created.

A few updates for you guys on quests you feel may have been broken:

- The Oggok Wizard quest no longer gives out a note due to the fact that after considering it, 3 items at once is a bit much for a low level players inventory. If you've completed the quest, you can simply hail the person you're requested to visit to continue it.

- "Klyaa's Lost Family" should be fixed and possible to complete now. There was an issue with one of the NPC's, but it's fixed up and works properly as of this morning(I tested it myself to confirm it works).

If someone doesnt do it in the next few days im going to write up a 'how to' wiki because its quite empty. we need some set rules on how to arrange some things (check out someones work on ring II i think it was). Quest giver, loc, zone, faction, prereqs, approx level, exact texts, etc.
This can go as well for item listings (I'm sure everyone can agree that all info from an item would be appriciated, at least whats on item inspect) including Lore info, result of quest, result of drop, what zone, link to effect properties.
As well as spell listing (inspect of spell scroll first, then a blurb describing wtf the spell does) and maybe some guesswork on what exactly damage or percentages ect it does (please mark if you are not sure w/ a ?)

You just took those from live, a lot of those aren't accurate... editing it a bit.

I check it daily and verify/add entries as I can. I cleaned up and got rid of some of the duplicate Newport ring quest entries for instance. We have a lot of great contributors and a ton of content that keeps growing.

What I would like to see, now that there is so much content, is a set of standard templates for items, quests, zones, mob info, skills, and guides.

I shall not rest until the entire game is wikified!
