Ok, black screen after char select issue...

I have been playing for roughly 2-3 nights, it all of a sudden started. Can it be my UI or EQW? (the one supplied by WR 2.35a)

I have the hotfix installed correctly, and I have even downloaded and unzipped it again to be sure.

I'm just plain stumped. Once or twice after the first crash I was on for about 20-30 seconds before it crashed again

Deleted my UI, it's fixed.

I'm having the same problem, i've only been playing for a night (started on Tuesday) and it was working fine. I logged back on last night after updating and everything loads up normal until it gets to just after i choose my character. I then get a black screen with the music still playing in the background and it won't enter me into the world. I tried deleting my UI folder and loading Winter's Roar up without EQW but it's the same. Can anyone help please?

I have had the same results as others here (blackscreen), but I have never before logged on to an emu. When I first did the downloads this weekend, I had a messed up character creation screen that would crash when hitting 'next'. That told me I did something wrong, hehe!

The Forums here offered up a couple nuggets after some digging, and my attempts with them was positive. I was now able to log-on, create a character (the windows were correct and all buttons worked) and head forth to a new world full of new adventures!

Except after creating a character, my launch into the world was a blackscreen with the theme music endlessly repeating itself. I honestly believe I have done all the loads correctly, but it is quite possible I missed something. If anyone here has any suggestions, I sure would appreciate it.

Ok so i get on connect and all and then i get my character and click Enter World or w/e it says and then it goes to the white Elf chick and eventually it turns into a black screen with the theme music stuff and im not able to do anything and ive sat here for like 30 minutes.

The "theme music" hanging is a known problem, but I don't quite remember what he solution was to it. Just stick it out for a while and I'm sure somebody will reply with the solution.

I hit enter world and bamm, black screen and no music at all, ever. I have no sound either.

http://www.wintersroar.com/files/help.zip fixes alot of the black screen problems. If it doesn't fix it, it is more than likely a UI problem. The info is in the sticky regarding the OOW patch.

There are no solutions in the zip file for any trouble shooting. I have attempted the UI solutions but they have not shanged anything. Unless I messed up somewhere.

Some how it got fixed, not exactly sure how. But I replaced the xml charactor file thing in UI and viola!
