btw cinn, tax increases on the rich actually make the rich richer, and the middle class poorer. Just think of all the taxes and revenue collected when the rich have more money to spend compared to when they have less (aka they pay more taxes in various ways when you lower their income taxes, compared to not spending and saving when their income taxes are raised)

No way - whoever is behind Sarah Palin might have been a class-mate of Karl Rove's in Evil Mastermind Prep, but was a C student. If Karl Rove wanted to elect another puppet leader to high political office he would know enough to limit that person's media exposure to scripted events tightly controlled enough and with answers vague enough that voters could project their own wishes onto the candidate without having their willful suspension of disbelief shattered. He'd keep those voters distracted with enough hand waving (in the form of pushing money in the direction of the least scrupulous 527s - and there would be plenty of ammo for these groups) that they wouldn't have time to burden their minds with reality between now and the voting booth.

Unless some political operator with the savvy of a Karl Rove or James Carville swoops in to save them things are going to unravel for the McCain campaign in these last few months.
