2 Problems - Help please :( Cant play

I got level 27 last night so I figured Id head over to RoFC to see if the mobs there were doable - when I zoned in the game crashed. When I tried to log back in it says im in RoFC but every time I try to enter the game it crashes me back out to the server selection screen.
Which leads to my second problem -

I figured Id make a new characther to petition with but when I go to the create new characther screen its weird - I have toolboxes over the top where the name selection screen is and if I allocate the points and hit next without changing the name (which I cant get to) it crashes EQ completely and I have to restart. One of the boxes says "help" or something with a button that I cant press, and the other has a description of the selected race - neither box can be moved or closed in any way.
Anyone have any ideas at all?

1.) No idea.

2.) you need the character create UI fix. Which you can download on this page (http://www.wintersroar.com/index.php?page=downloads), or well, click here to download it (http://www.wintersroar.com/files/CharCreate.zip).


get that and go make a petition ingame.

Problem 1 could be due to not having that particular zone installed. I'm pretty sure we don't have any good method for gracefully notifying you if you log into a zone that your client doesn't have files for.

Well I *thought* i did a full patch to eqlive before i installed wr but I could have missed it somehow... whats the quickest way to get the hole data files if im missing them? Am I going to have to do a full patch and then repatch wr?
