i did everything this site told me, installed the game, the files, the WR patcher.
But when i start the thing and click on New Account, i get a 1001 Error ("couldnt connect to EQ server, try again later").
Anyone know a solution to this one?

Do you go through the WR patcher to start the game?

i found the fix for the problem its the txt file for logging in
[Registration Servers]
{
"register.eqemulator.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"lethalencounter.eqemulator.net:5997"
}
make sure thats what it is

Ok, i did that, but now i get the following error: "EQEmu Error: This is not the registration server, get the right eqhost.txt from eqemulator.net" ...
I looked there, but couldn't find any ;(

No spaces there...

If you copy pasted there's a space after
5999"
and
5997"

A lot of the time the boards will add a space on the end of a line, so it might not be in the eqhost file

Try changing your hosts to one of these things:
[Registration Servers]
{
"register.eqemulator.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"lethalencounter.eqemulator.net:5997"
}
[Registration Servers]
{
"register.eqemulator.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
}
[Registration Servers]
{
"register.eqemulator.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin4.eqemulator.net:5997"
}
If none of those work, it's probably because you have a firewall or likewise that blocks the port that you're connecting to.

Ok, i tried all 3, the first one gives me 1001, the other two give me EQEmu Error. I don't have any firewall installed. What the hell is up?

Oh, and everytime I run the WR patcher, it changes the eqhost.txt file back to what it was before. :(

k, well, it seems that they don't work any longer, so try this:
[Registration Servers]
{
"register.eqemulator.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"24.174.185.97:5997"
}

uhm,yea,well... I solved it, I think.
Go to www.eqemulator.net and click on "New player Accts" in the right NavBar and create your accoun there, if you haven't already.
Then start EverQuest via the WRPatcher, click on connect, and for Station-Name and Password just enter you eqemulator acct data.
Then it should let u to the server list.

Oh, you guys had problems with creating accounts? The reason for this is that the way you tried to do it, is pretty outdated, it's also why there's a sticky on this forum on how to create an account. There is a new guide on the way where there will be a lot of fixes to common problems and a new setup guide.

[Registration Servers]
{
"register.eqemulator.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"24.174.185.97:5997"
}
called exactly? no one seemed to think it convenient to mention its name
Please Help! :lol:

It also happened to my friend, and it was because of the router configuration. Try opening some ports within your router/firewall to see if that's the reason (even disabling just to check the reason).
