Ok... One of our customers is in need of an EXTREMELY large Ventilation hood to go over top of a room. This hood is going to be roughly 13'x28'x8'... yes, 13 feet by 28 feet large by 8 feet high. HUGE!

Are there companies out there that make durable (Read: not canvas) duct hoods like that? Or any specialty order things? If not I need to design one from the ground up. I'm fully capable of doing so... just looking for other options. I'd like to hear from you. Thanks a lot.

We don't work with anything that large as far as our HVAC needs go. It'll probably end up being a custom unless you contact someone who does HVAC for factories/large labs. If you have a sheetmetal union close by, check with them as well to see if they've done that sort of work for anyone in the area.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see how old the original post was. Lacey brought it back a few weeks later...

Actually, I work security at a ceiling tile plant right now, and we have an absolutely mammoth of an industrial drier and fan system -- it's used to quickly dry the wet, fluffed wool-and-paper mixture that composes the tile itself before painting and other processes. Since the name of my job is security, however, I haven't paid much mind to what company made it... although I can tell you that the entirety of the machine is more than 30' 100' 30'.

It's also more than 20 years old, I would suspect, although I would likely be surprised by just how quickly those machines accrue wear and tear.

Anyways, point is... I'll take a look to see if I can figure out who made the whole thing and then see if they're still in business.
