new on WR

hello!
i am new on Winter's roar, and i cant get it work, i keep getting error 1001, and can't connect to login, maybe the server is down or i should try later??, anyway i saw that i could change my eqhost to a different adress and start the game with eqw, well i did that and now i can connect to the server, but when im at the character screen and i make a new character when i am loading world i getting a error, hehe i think i just solved the thing, i saw that wr i running version 0.5.3 if i not saw wrong.... then i wonder if i have to get the patch to 0.5.3 or do i only have to install EQ and run the patchWr?? the eq im runniing now is updated earlyer this day, and the patched with patchwr, i'd be thankfull for any responds

i fixed it once earlyer this day,but when i tryed to connect to a server i got error 1017, so i used search, and i read about it, and how a guy fixed it, so i did as he said he did to fix it, then hehe when i started the game and tryed connect to the server i was back on error 1001 ;(...

hehe i forgoten i got 2 eq folders, maybye i just delete em both and install Eq and patch it to live and try it again??

this is not related to my problem but does WR have alot of new stuffs, or is the most of the old stuffs from Eq ??
