Being disconnected after 5 minutes of play

I seem to have a somewhat unstable connection to the server, I will log in and be able to play/walk around for around 3-5 minutes before the left side of my lag bar slowly creeps to 100%.

I'm on a college network where ICMP traffic is blocked so I cannot tracert to the Winter's Roar server, although EQLive works fine without disconnects.

I was wondering if it uses a different port to connect?

I also tried changing my datarate from 5.0 to 8.0 as suggested by someone in-game.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I searched for topics about going LD also and found one recommending a datarate of 3. This produced no results.

Interesting note: When I go LD I am put back at the character selection screen and can reconnect immediately. Only to be disconnected soon after logging back onto the world.

I'm having the same problem, don't know if it'll keep happening, but I don't know what's causing it either...

Sorry I can't help, just didn't want anyone to feel alone...

I don't have as bad of a LD issue as the last posters, but I do seem to go LD every 10-15mins as well.

I was reading it might have to do with my Linksys router, but couldn't find anything on the forums to help ne. ;(

Check out the link that muurian gave. See if that doesn't help you with your Linksys router.

Well I have a D-Link router, where I've tried opening all ports and tried putting it in DMZ mode, without any luck. (also, the zones changes, it might be a population thing?)
