View Full Version : Tradeskilling a viable gear upgrade path?

On live it wasn't practical to upgrade your gear using blacksmithing since the skill ups cost way more than you could buy decent gear from players. So in SoD is blacksmithing a viable option at lower levels or do you have to wait until 50+ to pursue?
I'm playing a SK/shaman duo (level 4 so far).

Thanks for your input,

IMO, it really depends on your play style. You can start tradeskills as low as level 1 to get upgrades, and gain experience while doing it. Just realize that they will only advance so much until you level accordingly. On one hand I see it being easier to do it progressively especially if you will gain tradeskill experience, on the other, I see it as an interuption to more hard core leveling and a financial burden to a newly leveling toon (that is of course not a twink and funded via an already level 65 toon).

Getting blacksmithing to 250 costs tens of thousands of pp.. if your aim is getting decent gear for yourself during lvling up you will save a lot of cash by just buying it.

Thanks for the input.

I found the armor vendors last night at they seem like decent upgrade path.
I am a complete noob on this server so no twinking for me :( Actually I don't mind not twinking, it makes things more changeling and you appreciate your gains more.

Happy hunting!
